THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE IN HINDUISM
JAINISM AND BUDDHISM
-
Considered separate to Hinduism though both movements predispose:
-
Karma and samsara
-
The same/very similar ultimate spiritual goal
-
Yoga
-
Though J & B deny the Vedas and Hindus consider this to be nonorthodox as, by denying the Vedas they are denying the spiritual essence of the religion, hence making J & B mere human products
-
Another guideline for orthodoxy in Hinduism is reverence for Brahmins and implicit acceptance of the caste system though J & B do not embody the caste system and believe Brahmins have no special religious status
